So many memories with Hannah in New Mexico. Making scrambled eggs for forty people, singing by the fire, always swapping podcasts, dancing in the small and colorful spaces around ABQ. About a year ago we took Gus (souvenir from Alaska) with us to a kind of fancy place for lunch. He had a severe accident under the table that made everyone around us glare. Hannah and I laughed so hard – she new exactly how to handle both the mess and our disgruntled waiter.
I will always cherish a memory of Hannah interviewing myself and my old friend about our long and enduring friendship. She knew all the right questions. We all cried. We all sang in the booth once we’d stopped recording. I always wanted to go listen to her sing at Church. In my mind she is always in her purple t-shirt from the Durham Farmer’s Market, grinning.
